DIY LAWYER LTD and the business under its control are not solicitor firms and do not provide legal advice. DIY LAWYER LTD provides computer skills, web marketing specialists, law researchers and legal documents and legal information which enable Irish residents, as lay litigants, make their own applications to the courts in family law matters.

DIY LAWYER was founded by Peter P Ryan. Peter studied public administration and the law and received an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration.

His experience in representation and the breakdown of information and its delivery in a more simplified and user friendly nature led him to assisting people with dealing with administrative bodies and their regulations, rules, documentation and their plethora of red tape. His ability to read and decipher legislation, statutes, directives, regulations and practices and simplify matters and see things as they are, ensured there was always someone at his door seeking his assistance. He has successfully assisted people in overturning decisions from a wide range of administrative bodies and having their rights recognised and restored. He believes the first answer normally given to member of the public seeking assistance or provision from administrative bodies is NO. YOU DO NOT QUALIFY. His knowledge of administrative case law ensured that NO was never accepted without the full examination of the law in the first instance, the conduct and procedure of the officials in dealing with their citizen's in the second and normal practice prevailing at the time.

It was inevitable that when his own marriage was in difficulty and he went through marriage counselling, mediation, separation and eventually divorce he would see an opportunity to help others in similar circumstances. His first visit to a court office seeking a set of divorce papers and being told that they did not provide these and that he would have to go to a solicitor set the scene for what followed. He researched the law on divorce, the legislative requirements, the circuit court rules and the documentation involved and successfully filed for and got his own divorce. In the same year, 2003, he founded Irelands first dedicated divorce information website www.diydivorceireland.ie to assist people in simplifying the procedures and making their own applications to the court for divorce and it is now without equal in being the most successful divorce assistance provider with referrals from court office staff, citizen's information centres, marriage registrar's, mediators, friends of past customers and even the legal practitioners themselves.

Peter is committed to breaking down the barriers to access to the Irish courts by its citizens without the need to always have to hire solicitors and barristers and incur huge legal fees. He has recently launched Ireland 's first dedicated separation websites www.diyjudicialseparation.ie and www.diyseparationagreement.ie and is engaged in the provision of Judicial Separation for consenting couples eager to obtain a separation by agreement. His business now operates under the banner DIY LAWYER and his website www.diylawyer.ie is set to provide more information and launch other legal products in the near future. Watch out for www.diywills.ie later this year.
